Pride Charity the foundation for a new generation of friendship around the world!

Hi! My name is Sayge and I am President and co-Founder of Pride Charity. Pride Charity was started by Freeman Middle School students who wanted to raise money to help poor kids in developing countries. Because of our rural background we have chosen to make our impact through Heifer International, which provides families with food animals to raise and sell.

Our goals are to:

• Promote self-sufficiency by providing other kids with food animals to eat, sell and “pass along” to others in their community;
• Learn how to help fight world poverty and hunger (organizing, fund raising, and accounting);
• Raise $5,000 before we graduate from high school; -we have raised $2,000 by 6th grade!! We are doing this by raising money in our community selling crafts and by direct donations.

Most of us are rural kids with agricultural backgrounds. Many of us raise and show food animals. We believe that providing food animals and fruit crop trees to poor families is one of the best ways to empower and change their lives, both nutritionally and economically.

We are student led and run, and donate 100% of the money we raise to Heifer. Heifer International has won several awards and has an excellent rating by the Better Business Bureau for their charitable work.
